About

A sprawling, art-heavy coffeeshop hidden off the centre, built around wood, stone, mosaics and places to sit.

Abraxas is one of those places where the room is a big part of the reason to go. The interior has a more escapist, memorable feel than a straightforward retail-style coffeeshop, and it works especially well if you’re with a group or want somewhere that feels like part of the experience rather than just somewhere to buy.

This is more of a sit-down stop than a rushed grab-and-go. Once you’re done, you’re still right in the middle of the centre, so it’s easy to carry on towards Dam, the canals or whatever else you’ve got planned nearby.

Good to know

  • Hidden entrance

Abraxas is tucked away from the main street, so the first visit can feel more secluded than its central location suggests.

  • Stay for the interior

The art-heavy wood, stone and mosaic setting is a big part of the experience, not just the menu.
