Easy Times has been part of Amsterdam's coffeeshop landscape since 1985, but the current Prinsengracht room feels deliberately modern rather than nostalgic. The marble-effect finishes, clean lines and illuminated branding give it a more polished lounge character, while the upstairs smoking area and a handful of canal-side seats make it somewhere you can actually settle in rather than just buy and leave.

Easy Times usually gives you more to look at than the average central coffeeshop. The menu tends to move between familiar Amsterdam staples and newer genetics, with plenty of choice if you actually want to compare a few options instead of just picking the first thing on the board. Kosher Kush has been one of the names most associated with the shop over the years, while more recent menus have leaned into strains like Gelato 41, ZOAP, Sunset Sherbet and other modern hybrids. There is usually some hash in the mix too, which makes Easy Times a stronger stop if the weed matters as much as the room.

The location is one of its strengths. You're on the Prinsengracht a short walk from Leidseplein, so it fits naturally between the canal belt, restaurants, nightlife and a wider central-city wander. The crowd can be mixed and busy, but the room is designed for sitting, talking and taking your time. Easy Times works best when you want a central coffeeshop with a bit more comfort and polish, but it earns its place on the list because the menu usually gives you something worth choosing properly too.
