Family First is easy to underestimate from the street. The room is compact, green and graffiti-heavy, with a small amount of seating and a much stronger focus on the menu than on polished interiors. It can fill quickly, but the Amstel location just off Rembrandtplein makes it an easy central stop when the weed is the reason you are coming.

The menu is where Family First separates itself. There is usually a wide spread of Dutch-grown flower alongside more expensive US genetics, with hash, rosin, wax and other concentrates giving the board more depth than most central coffeeshops. The top end can get expensive, but there is normally enough range further down the menu to compare properly rather than feeling pushed toward one headline jar. This is the kind of place to ask questions, look at a few options and choose for flavour and quality rather than convenience.

Family First makes most sense for people who care about the product first and the room second. It is not the cheapest coffeeshop in town, and service can feel brisk when the place is busy, but few central shops give you this much to compare across flower, hash and concentrates in one stop.
