Katsu has more of a relaxed, neighbourhood feel than the busier central coffeeshops, with a gallery-like room, seating, drinks and games giving you a reason to actually stay for a while. It feels better suited to settling in than rushing through.
That makes it a good pick if you’re spending time in De Pijp and want the coffeeshop to feel like part of the neighbourhood rather than a tourist stop dropped into it. Albert Cuyp and the surrounding streets are close enough that it’s easy to smoke, wander and let the rest of the afternoon unfold from there.
