Ranchi specialises in Japanese-style sandwiches with soft bread and crisp, substantial fillings. It is simple food done with enough care to make the sandwich itself the reason to go rather than something you grab because nothing else is nearby.

This is a daytime De Pijp stop, best used around the Albert Cuyp market or before heading further east. Go hungry, order a sando and expect something much more filling than the neat presentation suggests.
