A neighbourhood bakehouse with a Neapolitan accent, serious pastries, coffee and cult-favourite cakes.
SALVO brings a distinctly Neapolitan streak to Amsterdam West without turning itself into a pastiche of an Italian bakery. The counter moves between maritozzi, soft buns, cookies, Basque cheesecake and bigger celebration bakes, backed by the coffee-and-conversation culture the team says inspired the place.
This is the kind of stop where “just a coffee” has a habit of becoming coffee plus something from the display. It works for breakfast, a sweet detour or an easy reset between the Jordaan and West — and if there is something specific in the cabinet you have your eye on, earlier is the safer move.
