The Bulldog Port

The outlier in the Bulldog family: a quieter Westpoort coffeeshop beside Amsterdam's harbour, away from the city-centre crowds.

Port is the Bulldog location that makes the most sense once you stop thinking of the brand as a purely city-centre institution. It opened in 2015 after The Bulldog moved a coffeeshop licence out of central Amsterdam as part of the city's effort to spread coffeeshops more evenly.

The result is a branch beside the working harbour in Westpoort, with ships, industrial space and water replacing the crowds of De Wallen or Leidseplein. There is indoor seating in the familiar Bulldog style and, in warmer weather, an outdoor patio by the water.

This is not the Bulldog to cross Amsterdam for if you only have a short first visit. It is the one to remember when you want a quieter setting, are already moving through the western harbour area, or simply want to see how different the brand feels outside the centre.
