The Bulldog Rockshop

A compact Bulldog coffeeshop near Haarlemmerstraat, built around classic-rock memorabilia and a more intimate atmosphere than the central flagships.

Rockshop is one of the easier Bulldog locations to underestimate. Opened in 1993, it sits close to Central Station and Haarlemmerstraat but feels smaller and more contained than the brand's better-known Red Light District and Leidseplein locations.

The theme is not subtle: guitars, gold records, a suspended drum kit and classic rock turn the room into a tribute to the era. The Bulldog says the venue originally operated as a combined café and coffeeshop until 2007, and some of that old bar-room feel still makes sense of the layout.

For Clouded, Rockshop works best as the intimate Bulldog option. It is useful at the beginning or end of a city-centre day, particularly if you are already moving through Haarlemmerbuurt or towards the Jordaan.
