Kashmir Lounge is closer to a neighbourhood DJ bar than a tourist smoking lounge. The Jan Pieter Heijestraat venue mixes drinks, a designated smokers area, richly decorated seating and regular DJs, with an outside terrace when the weather works. It has been part of Amsterdam West’s smoking culture for decades and feels deliberately more lived-in than polished. This is the Chill stop for people who want music and a longer evening rather than simply somewhere to consume and leave. Its location also matters: Overtoom, Kinkerstraat, Vondelpark and Oud-West food spots are all nearby, so it gives Clouded a genuine West-side hangout rather than sending everyone back towards Centrum.

Barney’s Uptown solves a very specific Haarlemmerstraat problem: buy across the road, then move somewhere with a proper bar and room to sit. The interior feels much more like a dark modern bar than a coffeeshop, with booths, bar seating, drinks, food, screens and a small street-side patio. Barney’s actively positions it as a place to relax with a drink and a smoke. That makes it particularly useful for groups where the session is meant to last longer than the purchase. You are also in one of Amsterdam’s densest Smoke corridors, with Barney’s Coffeeshop opposite and the Jordaan, Westerpark and Centraal all easy to reach afterwards. Choose Uptown when you want the social bar part of the evening as much as the cannabis part.

Lost in Amsterdam is built around the idea of staying put. The Nieuwendijk lounge is low-lit, colourful and heavily cushioned, with sofas, drinks, milkshakes and a deliberately cocooned atmosphere rather than the quick counter-and-leave setup of a coffeeshop. You bring your own cannabis rather than buying it here, then settle in for a smoke with something from the bar. Its location a few minutes from Centraal makes it one of the easiest answers to ‘where can we go after buying?’ in the middle of town. Expect a tourist-heavy crowd and a busier atmosphere later in the day, especially when DJs are on. Come here when comfort, drinks and having somewhere you can actually stay are more important than finding the quietest room in Amsterdam.

Stone’s is the late-night end of the Chill category. This is a Red Light District bar and nightclub rather than a quiet lounge: music, sports screens, drinks and a crowd that gets progressively livelier as the night goes on. Crucially, its own current website explicitly states that cannabis consumption is allowed in the bar, so there is no need to rely on old reputation or vague ‘smoke-friendly’ wording. Come here when the plan is already heading towards nightlife and you want the smoke to continue with it. It is not the choice for a peaceful daytime session, but it is unusually useful later in the evening when many calmer places stop being the right fit. Warmoesstraat puts you minutes from Centraal, Nieuwmarkt and the Red Light District.
